That Transform Manuscripts

Strong writing begins with rigorous editing. Our editorial team works across all fiction and non-fiction genres to help authors find the clearest, most compelling version of their story — at every level from structure to punctuation.

Our Editorial Services

Four Levels of Editorial Care

Each editing type addresses a different dimension of your manuscript. We recommend the right combination after reviewing your work.

Most Impactful

Developmental Editing

The deepest level of editorial feedback. Your developmental editor reads your entire manuscript and delivers a detailed report covering structure, pacing, plot logic, character consistency, point of view, thematic coherence, and overall narrative arc. This is the edit that reshapes a good book into a great one.

Line Editing

Working sentence by sentence, your line editor refines voice, improves rhythm, eliminates redundancy, strengthens word choice, and ensures each paragraph does what it needs to do. Line editing preserves your authorial voice while making your prose sing.

Copy Editing

Copy editing focuses on correctness and consistency: grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalisation, hyphenation, and adherence to your chosen style guide (Chicago, AP, or house style). Your copy editor also flags factual inconsistencies and continuity errors.

Final Stage

Proofreading

The final quality-control pass before publication. Your proofreader checks the formatted, print-ready manuscript for typographical errors, layout issues, widows and orphans, and any errors that slipped through earlier rounds. A clean proofread is your last line of defence against a published typo.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between developmental editing and copy editing?

Developmental editing addresses the big picture: structure, pacing, character arcs, thematic coherence, and overall narrative logic. It happens early in the revision process. Copy editing comes later and focuses on sentence-level correctness — grammar, punctuation, consistency, and style. Both are valuable, but serve different stages of manuscript development.

Do I need all four types of editing?

Not always. Many completed manuscripts are well-structured but need only line editing and copy editing. We conduct a complimentary manuscript assessment at the start of your engagement to recommend the editing passes that will have the most impact on your specific manuscript.

Can I request a sample edit before committing?

Yes. We offer a complimentary sample edit of up to 1,500 words so you can experience our editors' style and approach before making any commitment. Request yours during your free consultation.

How long does editing take?

Turnaround depends on manuscript length and the type of editing. A copy edit on a 70,000-word novel typically takes 2–4 weeks. A full developmental edit may take 4–8 weeks, followed by additional time for the author to revise. We always provide a schedule at the start of the project.

Who will edit my book?

Your manuscript is assigned to an editor with genre-specific experience. On Signature and Prestige packages you may request a specific editor subject to availability. All editors are vetted publishing professionals — not freelancers sourced from general platforms.

How many revision rounds are included?

Our Essential editorial package includes one round of edits plus one response round. Signature includes two full editorial passes with response rounds. Prestige includes unlimited revisions until both you and the editor are satisfied with the manuscript.
