Creative Brief
We gather your manuscript details, genre, target audience, tone, and any visual references or ideas you'd like us to consider.
Research & Mood Board
Our designer researches current market trends in your genre and creates a mood board for your approval before any design work begins.
Initial Concepts
You receive one to three cover concepts (depending on your package) with a design rationale explaining each creative direction.
Revision Rounds
You provide feedback and we refine the chosen concept across as many rounds as your package allows — or unlimited on Prestige.
Final File Delivery
Approved artwork is prepared for all required formats: print-ready PDF, ebook JPEG, audiobook PNG, and source files where included.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many cover concepts will I receive?
Our Essential design package includes one initial cover concept with two rounds of revisions. Signature includes three distinct concepts and unlimited revisions until you're satisfied. Prestige offers an open-ended creative collaboration. Your consultant will explain exactly what's included before you commit.
Do you design both print and ebook covers?
Yes. Every cover engagement includes print (front, back, and spine sized to your trim and page count) and an ebook thumbnail version optimised for small display sizes. Audiobook square art is available as an add-on or included in higher-tier packages.
Can I provide creative direction or inspiration images?
Absolutely. Most authors come with a mood board, reference covers, or specific ideas about tone and imagery. Our designers welcome this input — it helps them understand your vision and reduces revision rounds.
What file formats will I receive?
You'll receive print-ready PDF files at 300 DPI with proper bleed and crop marks, plus digital-optimised JPEG and PNG versions. All source files (layered PSD/AI) are provided on Signature and Prestige packages.
How long does cover design take?
Most cover designs are completed in 2–4 weeks from the initial design brief. Interior layout typically takes 1–2 weeks after the manuscript is finalised. We work to a shared project timeline agreed at the start of your engagement.
Will my cover look like a professionally published book?
Our design team works exclusively in book publishing and understands genre conventions, typography hierarchy, and retail presentation. We aim to create covers that are indistinguishable from those produced by major trade publishers.
