Books Matter Here
Everyone on our team is a reader. We talk about books — the ones we're editing, the ones we're reading personally, the trends we're watching. If you love books, you'll feel at home.
Authors First, Always
Our compass is the author. Every process, tool, and policy is designed around what gives authors the best experience and the best published book.
Autonomy & Accountability
We hire people we trust, then give them the space to do their best work. No micromanagement — clear goals, honest feedback, and genuine ownership of your role.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you hire remote employees?
Yes. Our team works in a hybrid arrangement — some roles are Los Angeles office-based, and many are fully remote. Each job listing specifies the location requirements. We encourage applicants from anywhere in the United States and, for select roles, internationally.
Do I need publishing industry experience to apply?
Publishing-specific experience is preferred for editorial and design roles, but we value skills and passion over credentials. For marketing, operations, and client success roles, relevant experience from adjacent industries is often equally valuable.
What does the hiring process look like?
Typically: application review (1–2 weeks), an initial 30-minute video call with HR, a skills-based task relevant to the role, and a final interview with the team lead. We aim to complete the process within 4–6 weeks and provide honest feedback at each stage.
Do you offer internships?
Yes. We offer paid editorial internships for postgraduate students and recent graduates interested in book publishing. Internships are typically 3 months, part-time (20 hours/week), and available twice yearly. Applications open in February and August.
What benefits do you offer?
Full-time employees receive health, dental, and vision coverage; 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays; a professional development budget of $1,500 per year; an employee book allowance; and access to our internal author engagement programmes.
Don't See the Right Role?
We occasionally hire for roles not listed here, and we keep strong applications on file for future openings. Send us your CV and a cover letter describing what you'd bring to the team.
